The 3 year long project REALS (Resilient and Ecological Approaches for Living Sustainably) aims to generate cross-sector and international networks within the interdiciplinary field of small scale solutions for sustainable life. It therefore involves different movements as the ecovillage (gen.ecovillage.org)-, the permaculture (permakultur.se)- and the Transition (transitionnetwork.org) networks as well as private and public sectors.
Partnercountries at present are Russia, Belarus and Sweden. Lead partner is Permaculture Sweden. Partners are CEMUS at Uppsala University/ Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU),Greenelizer (Sweden), the Russian “Ecovillage and Eco-initiative Network (REEN), LATeam at St.Petersburg State University, as well as EcoHome and Ecoproject, voluntary organizations with well established networks in the Belarusian Green network. REALS is also supported by many associated partners from all sectors.
The project will promote the sharing of information between participating countries, especially around practices and perspectives that highlight local resilience and emphasize the regeneration of local ecosystems. Expected results are practical workshops, new project ideas and pilot projects within the field, expanded networks and open-source data gained from workshops, research, and other stakeholders.
