Opel Astra diesel/el-hybrid

Opel har en diesel/el-hybrid på gång. 0-100 på under 8 sekunder och bränsleförbrukning på under 0,4 l/mil. Mycket intressant! "General Motors (GM) has unveiled the Opel Astra Diesel Hybrid concept car. The vehicle, based on the production version of Opel Astra GTC, is a front-wheel drive diesel-electric hybrid propelled by a 1.7 liter turbo diesel engine of 92 kW (125 hp) of power and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) torque and by two electric motors rated at 30 kW and 40 kW, which are integrated within the transmission case. GM expects an acceleration performance of less than 8 seconds from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) with the Astra Diesel Hybrid concept. With fuel consumption below 4 liters/100 km (MVEG mix), the Astra Diesel Hybrid is projected to be 25% more fuel efficient than comparable diesel models. This is achieved through the hybrid system’s operating parameters, which include full engine stop at idle and full electric propulsion at launch. The electric motors also are used for deceleration, where kinetic energy is recuperated and stored in the battery."

Det låter ju fantasktiskt, undrar när den kommer ut på marknaden. En sån skulle jag vilja ha, och köra på RME. Fast den blir nog dyr...

Jag läste på ett ställe att den kommer redan 2007. Kommer tyvärr inte åt den artikeln längre... RME ja, eller syntetisk diesel från Piteå! Det jag hört är den stora fördelen med GM:s "two-mode"-hybridteknik är att den tar så lite plats att man lätt kan montera systemet i befintliga bilar. Då kan vi inom kort ha tillgång till en stor mängd hybridbilar.

Min favoritmotorjournalist (ironi) Robert Collin skrev så här i en Aftonbladet-chatt häromdagen: "miclos säger: När tror du att hybridbilarna får sitt stora genombrott? Robert Collin säger: Aldrig." Robert tycker tydligen det är fiffigt att ha förbränningsmotorn igång när den inte behövs... :-)

Även Audi är på gång med hybrider tydligen: "In Geneva, Audi chairman Martin Winterkorn said Ingolstadt is developing various hybrid systems, including both gasoline/electric and diesel/electric versions."

Opeln i denna tråd finns inte med på Frankfurtmässan som pågår just nu. Däremot har Opel en prestanda-SUV (Antara) med ny dieselteknik och förbrukning as usual: "But the absence of the Astra diesel hybrid from Frankfurt hype, combined with the reveal of the twin-turbo Antara concept implies that GM is focusing on increasing power and maintaining fuel consumption, rather than downsizing for fuel savings." Tyvärr så är fokus på att öka prestandan med bibehållen förbrukning. En tråkig utveckling och ett klassiskt exempel på "the rebound effect", dvs att teknikutveckling inte leder till mindre miljöpåverkan.
